Franco left his beloved Sicily in 1973, came to Belgium and started immediately in the 'Parma' restaurant
in Leuven. He later moved to Kortrijk and in 1977 he was head waiter in the restaurant on the same location on the Grote Markt.
Since February 1987, he runs his own successful restaurant 'Al Garda Da Franco', better known as 'Da Franco'.
Da Franco wears with pride the label 'Ristorante Italiano' since 2003. This is a recognition of the Italian Ministry of agriculture and forestry including restauration. It is proof that Da Franco serves authentic Italian dishes with Italian quality products and quality standards in accordance with the imposed regulations.
